John Sarkis was born in San Fransisco, CA. In 1994, his family relocated to the Seattle area. Sarkis began painting at an early age, influenced by his older brother who painted graffiti. As a young artist, Sarkis’ artwork became his choice language to express his life experiences and interactions with his environment. As he continued to pursue painting he became increasingly determined and inspired to discover his artistic identity. His paintings have evolved to become a place of experimentation with Sarkis continually working with new materials visual vocabulary.
